Something positive is in the air. Maybe it's the arrival of spring. Maybe it's the position of the planets. Maybe it's just time. Suddenly, friends and colleagues are coming to me with new ideas--new products, new books, and new projects--followed by the question: "How do I accomplish this?"

I'm all for brainstorming. When there's an issue at hand, something new to accomplish, it's great fun to sit down with a friend or two, throw the idea out there, and see what everyone comes up with.

Fresh, creative ideas and inspiration are the stuff that makes our writing lives worthwhile. For me, it's why I've chosen this industry as a place to spend my time and energy. No matter what's going on, in a short time that thing is over or done and it's time to move on to something different.

Be innovative. Think outside and around the box. Come up with something new. And, go for it!
